We want anyone to be able to read the menu, find the room and get in touch. Here is where this site stands, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.
The standard we build to
This site is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines at Level AA, including the criteria added in WCAG 2.2. We describe it as partially conformant: most of it meets the standard, and we are not claiming it is perfect. It was reviewed on 9 September 2026 with automated checks and a manual pass covering keyboard-only use, heading and landmark structure, motion, and colour contrast measured against the real rendered colours. We have not yet tested it with people who use screen readers and other assistive technology every day, and we would rather say so.
How the site is built
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, and there is a visible focus ring on anything you can reach. A "Skip to main content" link is the first thing a keyboard or screen reader user meets.
- Nothing on the site needs JavaScript. There is none. The list of questions on the home page uses the browser's own disclosure widgets.
- There is a Pause motion control in the bottom-left corner of every page. It stops the background videos on their still frames, freezes the scrolling strips, the turning stamp and the map pin, and holds the guest reviews on the first one. If your device is set to reduce motion, all of that happens on its own.
- Every photograph carries a text description. Decorative artwork, including the map drawing and the stamp, is hidden from screen readers rather than announced as noise.
- Text and background colours were measured for contrast, and every pairing on the site meets AA. No text is placed over photographs or video.
- The layout reflows from a 300 pixel wide screen up to 200% zoom without sideways scrolling or content being cut off.
- Pages use real headings and landmarks, so assistive technology can move by section.
What we know is not covered
- Ordering happens on another company's site. The Order Online buttons take you to Famished, and the menu and checkout live there. We do not control that site's code; its own statement is at famished.ai/accessibility. If you hit a barrier while ordering, tell us anyway and we will raise it with them.
- The map on the home page is a drawing, not an interactive map, and it is hidden from screen readers because the address is written out beside it. The directions link hands you to Google Maps.
- The Pause motion control does not remember its setting when you move between pages. Your device's reduce-motion setting does.
- We have not done assistive-technology user testing.
